Originally called the Board of Directors when Texas Technological College was established in 1925, the Board of Regents is the body of individuals responsible for the overall administration of the Texas Tech University System. This governing body is comprised of nine members appointed to six-year terms by the Governor of Texas, and is concerned with setting policies and procedures, financial management and strategic planning for the university and its growth.

Additionally, the TTU Board of Regents website hosts their official board meeting minutes from 1999 to present.

Physical copies of the Board of Regents Meeting Minutes are part of the holdings in the University Archives, located in the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library.
