Description

"The Catalyst" is comprised of 8 pages of student written articles, editorials, satires and political statements. This issue covered topics such as Lubbock's juvenile detention center; a salute to Texas Tech's campus ministers; segregation and discrimination in Texas Tech's student organizations; the Vietnam War Moratorium; an assault on student I. D. Walker; restrictions on movie theatre owners; the Lubbock Committee of the Texas Civil Liberties Union; Texas Tech homecoming; injustices against African-Americans; the treatment of women as second class citizens; a review on "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf"; and drug use among troops. The issue, dated November 2-26, 1969, sold for 10 cents.
