Photograph of three men in military dress dated December 20, 1966. The accompanying press release states "PROMOTION OBSERVED -- Texas Tech Aerospace Studies Prof. Robert Dyer received an early Christmas present Tuesday with his promotion from the rank of captain to major. Pinning on the oak leaves symbolic of his new rank are (left) Maj. Stephen Von Phul (cq) and Department Head Lt. Col. Henry L. Gantz Jr. (right). Maj. Dyer, assigned to the Tech Air Force ROTC detachment since May of 1964, is a native of Lometa, Tex."
