This issue covered topics such the banning of The Catalyst newspaper on the Texas Tech campus following the publication of issue no. 6; freedom of speech and religion issues; Dr. Grover Murray's hiring of vice-presidents; drug arrests and enforcement in Texas and national legislation; comparison of the University Daily versus The Catalyst; the public education system; racism in Lubbock and San Francisco; lack of observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday in Lubbock; student pilots at Reese AFB; and a list of rumors on why The Catalyst is being banned from campus. The issue is dated February 1-10, 1970, and sold for 15 cents.
